Over the last 17 years, since I released The Lost Villages of Scituate, I have had a number of people ask me when I was going to do a book on North Scituate. At the time my thought was "North Scituate is still there". However, I would ask them if they had any old photos of North Scituate or the surrounding area.
I cannot pass up old photos; therefore, I would borrow them and scan them onto my computer. Then I would file them into a folder titled, North Scituate. I'd return the photos to their owner and forgot them.
Thirty-four books later find me in the year 2026. In the last two years I have had folks that had loaned me their collections, call me and ask if I had thought about doing the book on North Scituate. I decided that seeing I was between books, it was a good time to check on the North Scituate folder to see what I had accumulated.
I then checked on my Providence Water folder to see what was there on North Scituate. I could not believe how much land & how many buildings had been taken & decided North Scituate needed to be done, now.
