Elvis Presley is the third book in the Gramma Larson Remembers series. Her love for Elvis began in 1956 when she bought her son Raymond a portable record player with four 45RPM records. One of the records was Love Me Tender. Through the years the boy born in a two room cottage in Tupelo, Mississippi rocked his way into her heart. The first poem Gramma wrote about him was; A Super Star Was Born. She continued writing about Elvis over the next 33 years. She would write on his birthday or the anniversary of his passing. Other times just because she was thinking of him. She enjoyed listening to his tapes when he sang love songs. However, her favorite songs that Elvis sang were How Great Thou Art and Amazing Grace.
This book, Elvis presley, records 33 poems Gramma wrote about him as time passed on. It contains 33 photographs the author took of Elvis when he visited Rhode Island in 1974 and 1976 at the Providence Civic Center. It also lists chronologically the 33 movies he starred in over the years. Gramm loved Elvis because he respected, loved, and was very close to his mother. She said many times he had the voice of an angel. She thought he was handsome but unfortunately was never able to see him in real life. All she was able to do was watch him on television, listen to his tapes, and read the album her son gave her over and over again. Included are photographs of his air planes, statues of him, his gravesite, and of course his homes in Tupelo and at Graceland.
