Over the last 17 years, since I released The Lost Villages of Scituate, I have had a number of people ask when I was going to do a book on North Scituate. At the time my thought was "North Scituate is still there." However, I would ask them if they had any old photos of North Scituate or the surrounding area.
I cannot pass up old photos; therefore , I would borrow them and scan them onto my computer and filr them in a folder titled, North Scituate then return the photos to their owner and forgot about them.
Thirty-Four books later finds me in the year 2026. In the last two years I have had two of the folks that had loaned me their collection call me and ask if I had thought about doing the book on North Scituate. I decided that seeing I was between books, it was a good time to check on the North Scituate folder to see what I had accumulated.
I then checked my Providence Water folder to see what was there on North Scituate and the surrounding area. I couldnot believe how much land and how many buildings had been taken and decided North Scituate needed to be done, now.
This new book takes an Imaginary Tour of the area, starting at the corner of Battey Meeting House Road and Danielson Pike facing the State Police Barracks. It continues..............
